Some welcome new features of this edition are its color images and cross-sectional views of muscles in the EMG section. Moreover, the book is now accessible online online for quick reference.
Readers can also listen to EMG sounds online instead of installing a CD, which was not always successful with the second edition. I would recommend this book to all residents and clinical neurophysiology fellows as well as anyone who interprets nerve conduction studies and performs EMGs.

Electromyography and Neuromuscular Disorders: Clinical Electrophysiologic Correlations
The book is described in a way you tell stories to kids. This is such a easy and fantastic way to learn electrodiagnostics. Thank you authors for your amazing contribution. Another pro is the convenience. This is available on the inkling app where I can look at the EMG videos and search the entire text book on my PC, laptop or mobile phone.
This is a clinical-electeophysiologic for all neurology residents, fellows and neurologist who perform EMG. This book is a must-have for anybody interested in learning about electrodiagnosis and neuromuscular disease. I have used it throughout my training, and I am sure I will continue to refer to this text as a staff. The first several chapters provide a very clear, clinicap-electrophysiologic explanation of the fundamentals of electrodiagnostic testing. The third edition of this book is a wonderful update.
The EMG atlas now includes cross-sectional images of the muscles, which I have found to be very useful. I could not give this book a higher recommendation. Thorough and yet concise. It is my go to reference book. It has helped me pass my ABEM board exam and electromyogrphy exam.
You can dowload the e-book version with purchase of the book and the videos of the waveforms in the e-book are very useful for reference and for reviewing for the boards. Great well written book. I am using this book for my intermediate nerve conduction study class.
I also have my Clinical rotation at University Hospital and get to work with the two doctors who wrote this book! I faced a a recent correlatoons. I had to complete the clinical neurophysiology board re-certification exam, however, my last experience with EMG or neuromuscular disease patients was over 31 years ago. I read this book alone to prepare for the EMG section of the exam. When I took the clinical neurophysiology exam, I was able to easily answer every EMG question correctly.
What is great about this book is that an abundance of tables, illustrations, outlines etc represent everything you need to know and provide an excellent study aid. Another great thing about the book are end of chapter case discussions that reinforce the chapter’s content. The authors introduce a few key concepts and apply these concepts repeatedly in the book.
The abundance of visual learning aids, the end of chapter case studies and clarity of writing make this book a model for what other books in clinical medicine should be.
Seems like a definite upgrade over the last version. Pictures are much better, and the muscle diagrams seem like they would be very useful to someone just learning EMGs. I mainly got this so I could give my old version to my tech, but I do like this one better.
Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. We use this as our reference text in the EMG lab at my hospital. It is well written with clear correlatiobs detailed explanations of neuromuscular disorders, nerve conduction studies and electromyography techniques. The photographs showing lead and stimulator placement for nerve conduction studies are very helpful. I would recommend for any neurodiagnostic technologist who is learning to perform NCS.
