It is not bdrnard philosophical, but you watch how philosophy changes Yakov. This is powerful stuff; a tale of a set-up, absurd but deadly in nature, with slight undertones of Kafka or Camus. This must of course be taken in its proper context. Will I read it again?

This book breaks my heart and makes me feel for the protagonist, Yakov Bok, a Fixxer fixer by trade, who dreamed to make something of himself by POGROM is the word which can give readers an idea of what this book is all about. See all reviews. Many of the most moving moments comes when Yakov have delusions and dreams caused by starvation, illness th general suffering.
